Build Budget Skills That Actually Stick
Starting September 2025, we're running a practical program for people who want to understand their money better. No spreadsheet wizardry required—just clear guidance from folks who've been doing this for years.
Register Your InterestWhat You'll Actually Learn
Look, budgeting isn't rocket science. But it does take some know-how. Over 16 weeks, we'll walk through the review process that helps you spot where your money's going—and where it could go instead.
This isn't about cutting out coffee or judging your spending. It's about building a system that works for your life. We cover tracking methods, quarterly review sessions, and ways to adjust when things don't go to plan (because they won't).
- Monthly income and expense tracking techniques
- Setting realistic financial boundaries without feeling restricted
- Quarterly review frameworks to catch patterns early
- Adjusting plans when life throws curveballs
- Building contingency buffers that actually help
Sessions run Tuesday evenings or Saturday mornings. Pick what fits your schedule. Each session is 90 minutes with follow-up materials you can review at your own pace.
Who's Leading the Sessions
Three people who've spent years helping Australians navigate budget reviews. They've made plenty of mistakes themselves—which honestly makes them better teachers.

Darren Colbridge
Budget Systems Lead
Spent 12 years at a Perth credit union before going independent. Specialises in helping people recover from financial rough patches.

Sienna Talfryn
Review Process Designer
Built tracking systems for small businesses before pivoting to personal finance education. Really good at explaining complicated stuff simply.

Briony Keswick
Financial Literacy Coach
Former accountant who got tired of tax returns. Now focuses on teaching practical money management to people who hate spreadsheets.
What Past Participants Say
We ran a pilot program last autumn with 34 people. Most of them stuck through the whole 16 weeks, which frankly surprised us. Here's what happened:
About three-quarters said they felt more confident reviewing their finances quarterly. A bit over half actually implemented some kind of tracking system that lasted beyond the program. And nearly everyone said they'd recommend it to a friend—though a few admitted they'd warn people it requires actual effort.
The 2025 cohort starts September 9th and wraps December 23rd. We're capping it at 40 people because the sessions work better when everyone can actually participate. If you're interested, reach out by July to secure a spot.
